Who We Are
About the Central Coast Broadband Consortium
Mission
Our mission is to bridge the digital divide by ensuring reliable and affordable broadband access to all communities in the Central Coast region. We aim to enhance digital equity through strategic partnerships, innovative solutions, and community engagement. By fostering collaboration among local governments, service providers, and community organizations, we strive to deliver high-speed internet to underserved and unserved areas, empowering residents with the digital tools they need to thrive in the modern world.
Vision
We envision a digitally inclusive Central Coast where every resident has equal access to the economic and social opportunities afforded by high-speed internet. Our vision is to create a connected community where technology enhances education, healthcare, economic development, and quality of life. By championing digital inclusion, we aspire to build a region where everyone, regardless of their location or background, can fully participate in and benefit from the digital economy.
History
Established in 1996, the Central Coast Broadband Consortium (CCBC) promotes the expansion and improvement of broadband deployment, access, and adoption throughout the Monterey Bay region. The CCBC core stakeholders are representatives of all economic sectors, government functions, nonprofit, and educational services.
In 2018, the CCBC initiated its partnership with MBEP, which advances CCBC’s project initiatives through project management and assistance to local agencies, ISPs, and CBOs.
